Passaggio Wines Returns to Sonoma County
Passaggio Wines, one of Northern California's most endearing wineries, returns to Sonoma County in late July with the opening of a wine bar later this summer, just in time to celebrate its fifteenth anniversary.
One may recall Passaggio from its former location off Sonoma Plaza from 2014 to 2020. The new location will be in the historic Jack London Village at 14301 Arnold Drive, Unit 1, in Glen Ellen, CA.
Launched in 2007 with only one wine, an unoaked Chardonnay, winemaker and owner Cindy Cosco has grown Passaggio's portfolio into a variety of wines, including whites, rosés, reds and sparkling.
Cindy watched the winemaking process from her Italian grandfather’s basement, which inspired her to take her own leap. In 2004, Cindy moved from Virginia to California, where she worked her way up through the wine industry – from retail sales to harvest work, to winemaking, then founder of her own brand. Passaggio, an Italian word used in music to describe a transition or passage, is a homage to her grandfather, who sought passage from Italy to the New World.
The new wine bar will feature flights, as well as wine by the glass and bottle. There will be a stage for entertainment and small space for private tastings.
“Every empty bottle is filled with a great story,” said Cindy. “I love bringing people together. There’s something magical when you get together with friends and family and share a glass of wine." It is her love of the Sonoma County community that is the driving force behind Passaggio's homecoming.
The official grand opening date will be announced shortly.
