2018 Trousseau Gris
Fanucchi Wood Road Vineyards, Russian River
A decadent nose of freshly baked cookies awakens the senses. Breathe in brown sugar and honey along with soft floral notes and fresh fruits like white nectarines and peaches. This Trousseau Gris is, without a doubt, a complex wine. You’ll find yourself sipping more and more just to figure it out. The palate has body, a sense of fullness, yet there’s a zesty, zingy acidity that provides freshness. There’s a bit of texture that presents itself about ½ way through the tasting, slowly dissipating, but leaving a bit of dryness around the perimeter of the tongue and lower portion of the cheeks. Dominant flavors are of lime leaf, nut skin, dried flowers, dried herbs de provence, hints of honey, and a dusty minerality. ~Stacy Briscoe
